The 33rd Íslandsbanki Reykjavik Marathon will take place on Saturday August 20th 2016. Registration for the race is now in full swing. 6.500 participants have already registered for the race, 18% more than same date last year.
Registered runners are 3.100 from other countries than Iceland. The runners coming from abroad are from 75 different nationalities. Most of the international runners are from USA, 950 registered runners. Second most are from UK, 480 runners, and third most from Canada, 360 runners.
We recommend that you register soon, the entry fee will rise at midnight on Sunday July 3rd.
Registration for the 2016 Islandsbanki Reykjavik Marathon, that will be held for the 33rd time on August 20th has now opened here on marathon.is.
The race consists of six different distances, like the last few year, so people of all age groups and fitness levels should be able to find a suitable distance.
Marathon (42,2 km)
Half marathon (21,1 km)
Relay race (2-4 runners team up and run a marathon)
10 km race
3 km Fun Run
Runners are encouraged to register early because the entry fee will increase as it comes closer to the race. The last change to register at the lowest price is March 15th.
