    The 2017 Islandsbanki Reykjavik Marathon will place on Saturday August 19th. Participants can choose between five different distances. On-line registration is open here at marathon.is.
  • Reykjavik Culture Night

    The Reykjavik Culture Night is an annual event, held in the city of Reykjavik since 1996. The Reykjavik Marathon and the Reykjavik Culture Night take place on the same day, Saturday August 19th 2017. Click here for information about the Culture Night.
  • Run for charity

    All runners registered for the Islandsbanki Reykjavik Marathon can run for a good cause. Collection of donations takes place on the web hlaupastyrkur.is. In 2016 runners collected more than 90 million ISK for 167 different charities. Click here for further information.

Pace makers

In the 2016 Islandsbanki Reykjavik Marathon runners are offered help to reach their goals in the 10 km run, halfmarathon and marathon. Pace makers will run these distances at an even speed. They will be wearing marked vests and carrying balloons so that runners can follow them. 

The pace makers are all trained runners that will run at the following times:

Those who plan on running a half marathon in 2 hours can also hang around the pace makers witht the 4 hour markst on them for the Marathon because the course is the same for half marathon and full marathon the first 18 km.

FIT & RUN EXPO

On-line registration for the 2016 Islandsbanki Reykjavik Marathon has been closed. Those who missed the on-line registration can register at the race EXPO in Laugardalsholl Sports Hall. At the same place all registered participants have to pick up their race packet.

Registration and number pickup at the EXPO is open from 15:00-20:00 on Thursday August 18th and 14:00-19:00 on Friday August 19th. Please use entrance A (see photo below).

This year the Íslandsbanki Reykjavik Marathon EXPO is a part of Fit & Run EXPO 2016. The EXPO is dedicated to the runners preparation for the Reykjavik Marathon, health, gear, shoes and other products for runners, among with many interesting and exciting happenings. We encourage you to take good time to visit all the exciting EXPO booths. The Fit & Run EXPO is open for anyone interested in running and health, no entry fee will be collected.
