The 2014 Islandsbanki Reykjavik Marathon is near by. Below is interesting stuff runners in the timed distances might want to know about.
Shortly after you cross the finish line on Saturday we will send an SMS to your registered mobile number. The text message will contain your unconfirmed chip time. Confirmed results will be published on marathon.is no later than at 16:00 on the day of the race. Please log in to “Your Page” here on marathon.is to see if your mobile number is registered. Notice that you can only register one mobile number. It does not have to be your number, it can also be the number of a friend or a family member who waits excited on the sidelines. In the case of mobile numbers that are registered abroad then it needs to be registered as if you were calling the number from a different country, for an example 004545264526. To log in to “Your Page” you use the username and password that you received via email when you registered for the race. Here you can get a new password sent to your registered email address. Notice that “Your Page” will close at 13:00, Thursday August 21st, but you can also register your mobile number at the race number pick up in Laugardalshöll sports hall.
You can also point out to your family and friends, who cannot make it to the sidelines to encourage you, that live results can be found here on marathon.is. Note that these are only preliminary results that are updated every 10 seconds. Official results will be published on the web at 16.00 hours on the race day.
Colleagues, families, friends or any group that is taking part in the marathon, the half marathon or the 10 km race can take part in the team competition. The only requirement is that all members of the team are running the same distance. Men and women can be in the same team. The first team to finish each distance will receive a prize. Registration for the team competition is at “Your Page” and more information about the team competition can be found here.
